Please send in the Final Parts of your Roster! The official date and times of the tournament are
Sunday February 17th, 2008 @ the Nutty Irishman Farmingdale
The Check In Time will be 12 p.m.
Random Pairing of Partners from your roster will begin at 2 p.m.. It will be done publicly on stage in front of everyone who has arrived. While Pairing you with your partner you will be placed into a bracket. The brackets will be equaled out to balance the number of teams you have from your bars to other bars. This takes away you playing a bracket full of just teams from your bar.
*if you are not there have a problem with this process please get there at 1:45 so there is no issues
The body of rules used for this tournament are the WSOBP official rules.
Quick Rundown of key rules:
When you and your partner hitting a cup each on your turn, you recieve one ball either YOU or YOUR PARTNER can take the rollback shot. If you achieve another double cup hit with your partner and there is another rollback shot to be taken AGAIN either YOU or YOUR PARTNER can shoot. You DO NOT have to switch it up, even though most teams will it is not a rule that you have to.
You Cannot break the plain of the table while shooting. You must be BEHIND the farthest part of the table top. If you rub into/hit your cups it is NOT a dead shot. If you hit the table at all while you shoot it IS A DEAD SHOT. Now if you knock a cup(s) over while you shoot those cups are counted and are removed from the game.
You have to shoot to win - meaning even if you double cup a team they get there rebuttal’s no matter what. This was prevalent in our last tournaments championship game where it went to 3 OT’s and also in the WSOBP where CFK ran 4 cups back after IWC hit the last cup to send it into overtime.

Tournament Layout
This tourney will be a 64 team double elimination tourney. These “teams” will not be made up of 2 pre picked partners. The teams of this tourney will be made up of 8 groups of 8 teams. Each group will be representing a bar, state, region, or all. The object is to select your 16 players to represent your group. Once those 16 players have arrived to the tourney, they will be randomly picked out of a bucket to be paired with someone from that group. The main concept of this tournament is to decide which state/bar has the most depth in skill between their 16 players, for instance your #1 player could be paired with say your #16 player . There will be 8 brackets of eight teams, all 8 brackets will consist of one team from each each group.
Of course anyone is welcome to enter but the teams I am really expecting to hear from are Maryland, NJ, upstate ny, Philly, boston, NYC etc…
Tournament will be held at The Nutty Irishman of Farmingdale on Long Island. There are 2 Spots left! When i say 2 spots, I mean room for 2 more groups of 16, so get your teams together and make sure you pick wisely! Much much more info will be available soon. Check back to www.nylibeerpong.com, or message us on the nylibeerpong.com myspace page for questions, or to sign your team up!
The entry for this tourney comes out to $50/person, or $800/team..(800 divided by 16) each team must either represent a state or a bar. For example here on long island we have 2 teams. One is sponsored by “Lilly flanigans pub” and the other by “the nutty irishman”..

NYLIBEERPONG.COM Is proud to announce the Long Island/Tri-state area is rolling deep into the WSOBP 3 this year and basically ensuring the championship will be coming back to the area so that Tone and Neil can still touch it although they wont own it. You can see brief descriptions at www.bpong.com. Teams so far include:
2007 WSOBP 2 champs “We own your face” Tone and Neil will be looking to 2-peat, a goal many say will never be possible in this event.
Although 2006 WSOBP 1 runner up “Slippery Fetus” will not be there, the players will! With Josh DeFord signing Bobby Horan to a one year contract with incenntives, they form “Stroke it like Kirby”, And Mike Sciame scooping up the legendary Brian Dean of “Hey Mike” off waivers they Form “Dont move ill get you a towel”. Do I smell first round matchup?!?
The 2006 WSOBP 1 3rd place qualifyers and perennial threats “Zach and Screech” will be making their 3rd straight appearance. A team consisting of Christian Diez, and Mike macmillan, you dont only need to be from Long island to know these 2 are dangerous!
The 2007 WSOBP 2’s only undefeated team and #1 ranked team after pre-lims “Smashing time” make their second showing, and are on a mission. Feeling they should have easily won last year Mike Pop (A true all star, and frequent tourney winner in the northeast) swears 2nd or even 7th is not an option. If teamate Ron Hamilton shoots as well as we all know he can, and can keep his emotions in check, look for this team to make a run at history.
Newcomers to the WSOBP are T.J lazarus, and Nick Manfredo. Get out your #2 pencils because they form “Schools in session”. Not exactly the “rulers” of Long island, but it wont take long before people begin to “calculate” their odds on suprising alot of people. We’ll see if they can go for the masters, or be early drop outs.
Not Long Islanders, but our good upstate NY friends “Iron Wizard Coalition” will be making their 3rd annual treck to Vegas and look to avenge WSOBP 1’s 4th place finish, and last years 9th place finish. Coming from NY’s capital, Mike and Chris will look to capitalize on a few face slaps from Defo
Making a second trip to the world series is the new look “Bada Bing”. Joseph Radesco is the team mainstay but frequently welcomes a carousel of different partners, all of whom seem to put up big numbers. This year it will be one of his more recognizable partners jon. Joe coming off a big Long island Turkey bowl satellite win, will try an make his free entry into the WSOBP worth it.
*”The Bitches”, Long island’s own kristina Troumouhis, and stefanie piesner will be in attendance to spectate as our perverbial “6th man”. Despite their best efforts, this event will continue to be the biggest sausage fest in the history of vegas.
Finally our good friends at the World Pong Tour will be on hand. Probably exhausted from their recent tour of NY running numerous big prize tourneys and handing Long island many cancun trips courtesy of Red Eye, Sam and Peter will take off the staff shirts and pick up some balls (no homo). Has anyone actually seen these guys play? We havnt, so we have no prediction, all we can say is if they play in tournaments as well as they run em, watch out.
More area teams are expected to sign up, so we will keep you posted, and we will be updating teams performances throughout the tourney on our website, so log into www.nylibeerpong.com
